We love to treat children of all ages including children with special needs. Our dentists are certified to use nitrous oxide sedation when necessary to provide you with a positive dental experience.
A dental prophylaxis is done to remove hard and soft deposits (plaque and calculus) from the teeth and an evaluation of the condition of the oral cavity is done.
During your visit it may be determined that x-rays are needed. Interproximal decay (decay on adjoining surfaces of teeth) shows up on radiographs (x-ray images) before the provider would ever see it in your mouth clinically. This allows for it to be treated sooner. X-rays are also taken to determine if permanent teeth that have not yet erupted are present, if a tooth is impacted and if the teeth and jaws are in proper alignment.
Fluoride treatment is a preventive measure against tooth decay.
Mouth guards are used to protect the teeth, lips and tongue from injury when playing sports.
